My Regimen = My Tranquil Life
You know our life is usually this constant parade marching towards something or the other, mostly money and sometimes goals to satisfy people’s expectations. As soon as the alarm clock goes off there we go– run! Okay, so there are some things that you got to do and then you just have to do them. Some of those things make you happy and some get you so irritated.
Well, I have found my secret weapon. Yoga! My solace that enables me to keep my mind and soul intact no matter what the world throws at me. You would not believe how my day changes when I start it off with a couple of distressing “asanas”. I do not need to go to a spa or a rejuvenating centre, I bring the spa home.
All it takes is a couple of drops of nice essential oil burning atop an urn with a lightly flickering tea candle burning below (you can get some wonderful reed deffiusers and oil lamps online at Dot Maison). So, switch on a CD casting out the sound of the soothing ocean brushing against the sand or the pitter patter of rain drops on branches of trees and transport yourself away from the chaos and clutter in your mind by replacing it with the feeling of freshness. Some “pranayam” and some meditation for as little as ten minutes a day will prepare you to start your day on a high note.
The beauty of yoga is that it can be practiced whenever you want except for at least an hour after your meals. I am so accustomed to having yoga as a part of my daily routine that when I do not do it, I can immediately feel a sense of heaviness and dullness in my system. After all yoga purges out the toxins in your body to make you feel unburdened from your mind and your body.
The practice of yoga has undergone the test of time and I highly recommend that you do not miss the opportunity to make this, not only health enhancing but, life enhancing regime a part of your life.
