Don’t Carbs Out Of The Diet

The war against carbs has never been more serious. In times of worrying numbers of obesity and great focus on beauty and appearance it is not surprising that many people set on extreme diets and the first thing they is to cut all kinds of food that contain carbohydrates. Is this such a good idea, though? Some recent studies and clinical research shows that the answer is NO. Carbs play an important role regulating our metabolism and they influence to a great extent the production of “happy” hormones in the brain and thus, can affect the mood of a person.

What is metabolism?

We all have it, but it works differently for different people. Some are blessed with super-fast metabolism, which put simply means that they can eat as much as they want and never be afraid of gaining weight. Others have what we call “slow metabolism”, which they usually use as an excuse for their inability to lose weight. In fact people with slow metabolism simply burn calories significantly slower. Most people consider this a disadvantage but according to some, this can be very beneficial. So what is metabolism and how it works?
